Opticians Association of Virginia's Bylaws
The purpose of the Bylaws is to:

Establish a Board of Directors.

Define how the Board of Directors is elected by membership.

Define the classes of membership and voting privileges. 
- 
Specify the officers of the OAV and their duties. 
- 
Establish the different types of meetings and their purposes. 
- 
Outline procedures for succession, removal, and dissolution. 
- 
Define the extent of liability for officers and the Board of Directors. 
- 
Establish rules for committee structure. 
- 
Address other matters of governance relevant to applicable laws. 
The OAV's bylaws may be amended as necessary by a vote of the Board of Directors to meet the association's evolving needs.
