Bylaws

The Bylaws of the Opticians Association of Virginia, Inc. establish a set of rules governing the association's structure and operations. They provide a framework for effective governance, ensuring alignment with the mission and compliance with applicable laws.

Opticians Association of Virginia's Bylaws

The purpose of the Bylaws is to:

  • Establish a Board of Directors.

  • Define how the Board of Directors is elected by membership.

  • Define the classes of membership and voting privileges.

  • Specify the officers of the OAV and their duties.

  • Establish the different types of meetings and their purposes.

  • Outline procedures for succession, removal, and dissolution.

  • Define the extent of liability for officers and the Board of Directors.

  • Establish rules for committee structure.

  • Address other matters of governance relevant to applicable laws.

 

The OAV's bylaws may be amended as necessary by a vote of the Board of Directors to meet the association's evolving needs.
